I recently received an email about a very cool site that I want to share with you. If you like letters or type like I do, you'll have fun with this:
From the folks at Very Short List:

Pentagram design studio
(I apologize, but I can't seem to get this paragraph to center on this page) Since 1974, the design studio Pentagram has come up with a special way to usher in the holiday season, sending a select group of friends, colleagues and clients small booklets with an emphasis on strong graphic design rather that pat holiday greetings. But we kinda think they outdid themselves with 2009’s edition, the charming and incredibly well-executed and interactive What Type Are You? Typeface, that is! After entering your name and password—happily, we are allowed to reveal here that it is “character”—turn your speakers, as directed, up. A nattily dressed man, seen only from the neck down, goes into therapy mode, speaking in what we’re imagining is a Freud-like accent. He’ll ask you four simple questions, pausing and fidgeting impatiently if you take too long, and will reveal your own individual “type.” There are 16 different possibilities (from Archer Hairline to Universal), and you’ll receive a short and fascinating history lesson on the specified font. Talk about a gift that keeps giving...

I'm "Archer Hairline"

Pretty cool, right?!?
Fun ! I am Cooper Black Italic - rounded letters just like my rounded bod !;)
Happy New Year to you, Girl Friend !

Mine is a Stencil typeface - ack! Oh well. It was very fun though! Did you notice in the background on the left there is a shelf and on the bottom shelf is a wooden, bendable hand model (one of those that you can buy in an art supply store to use as a model to practice drawing hands - similar to those little artist wooden manequins). Anyways, the hand is on the bottom shelf and it is "giving the finger"! I thought that was hysterical!
Hope all is well with you!

Well, girlfriend. Welcome back! I've been missing your posts. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and equally wonderful New Year's celebration.
I had a hard time with the last question: relaxed or disciplined. So I tried it both ways. First was disciplined and my type was Van Doesburg, which didn't seem to fit me at all. Then I answered it again with "relaxed" and it came back Cooper Black Italic. Yep. I think that's a better fit. Relaxed with my rounded love handles. That sounds like me. :-)
Thanks for the chuckle. I'm passing this on to my designer/calligrapher friends.

I had to try this. Plastica came first - an odd fit - I tried again using my maiden name and came put with Archer Hairline - which I like much better! Thanks for this post.
